DONATIONS ALWAYS WELCOMED, BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A DONATION TO PARTICIPATE IN OPERATION MERRY CHRISTMAS CARDS.

 

Mission: Share Merry Christmas faith, hope and love with our military heroes and their families, one card at a time. Encourage those families who are missing a loved one because of their sacrifice and service by purchasing or hand making a holiday card to thank and remind them they are not forgotten, they are appreciated for all that they do and sacrifice, and they are never on watch alone.

 

Objective 1: Deliver 19,500 cards to military families at Ft. Hood, America’s largest military installation.

 

Objective 2: Provide Merry Christmas Dinners for military families and Merry Christmas meals for at-need Veterans.

IT'S THIS SIMPLE AND SO MUCH FUN:

 

• Purchase or hand-make a Christmas Card. The more the better. Most people share 3 to 5 cards. Get the kids, family, friends and neighbors involved. This is also a great project for businesses, schools, churches, etc.

• Hand-write at least 5 heartfelt, appreciative or supportive sentences on each card. Remember, for some this is the only mail they will get.

• Let the kids draw and/or color pictures on the card or envelope. They are loved by all as many have children.

• Next, place each card in an envelope (purchased cards typically include an envelope). You can also decorate the envelope. DO NOT SEAL THE ENVELOPE THE CARD IS IN. Cards have to be inspected. This is a DOD requirement.

• Put all of the cards in a larger envelope and mail to the address below.

• If possible, please include a donation of $1 per card to cover delivery. If you include the suggested donation of $5 per card we are also able to provide a Merry Christmas meal for a Veteran for each $5 donated. If you include a $49 donation we are able to provide a complete Merry Christmas Dinner with all the fixin's, including a turkey and pumpkin pie, for an active duty military family.  | Click to Donate

REMINDERS:

• Ho-Ho-NO: Again, do NOT seal or stamp the envelopes the cards are in. The cards will be inspected. In addition, we deliver and/or mail in bulk as it is more cost effective.

• Ho-Ho-Optional: You may include your email or return address to be contacted back (please remember, not all will write back as they may not have the ability to send return mail or the time as many are in combat zones.

• Ho-Ho-Optional: You may include photos, however, these must be family friendly and appropriate. Please remember this is not a dating service – many cards will be received by service members who have families.

• Ho-Ho-Ho YES-YES-YES: Please DO include a donation to Heroes Fighting Hunger for logistics, postage, delivery and to provide a Merry Christmas Dinner for military families and Veterans with food resource needs. Again, if you donate $5 we can provide a Merry Christmas meal to a Veteran or Single Service Member. If you donate $49 we can provide a Merry Christmas dinner to an acitve duty military family.​ Any donation you make will be great.  | Please Give Now

As you can see, we need your financial support too. Your donations cover logistics including inspection and delivery of each Merry Christmas Card. We estimate these costs to be $5,000 if we reach our target goal. Again, please include a donation to provide a Merry Christmas Dinner and meals for military families and Veterans with food resource needs.​ Any donation you make will be great.
